I've decided to take up archery lessons as a part of my various new year's resolutions. I'm a couple of lessons in now and I'm loving it.
I'm not into hunting or anything like that, it's just I had these memories of doing archery when on adventure trips at school and I was always pretty good with the bow and arrow, so I wanted to get back into it. I've also taken up Tae Kwon Do, I want o get more physical and fit and make the most of my body!

I do Tae Kwon Do twice a week and archery once, and it fits in really nicely with my work and my lifestyle at the moment. There are really cool people at the archery classes too, they're not weirdo hunters or anything like that, and there are a lot of younger people who are really strong and really amazing at it.

I have just read an article here that explains the most fundamental differences of life insurance cover. I have always known that life insurance is an important product to investigate because it provides peace of mind that many of the obstacles that occur in life. It offers protection for your loved ones in their hour of need, and can also be a much more cost effective way of dealing with the costs associated with death. There are two main types of life insurance, which influences the duration of coverage, and also has a significant influence on the cost of life insurance rates.
The two types are permanent life insurance and term life insurance. Permanent life insurance coverage is paid for the remainder of your life, and provides cover until death, or monthly payments stop- if you pay for the rest of your life, you’ll be covered for the rest of your life. Term insurance offers cover for only a fixed life insurance term. After this term, the insurance policies must be renewed in order to maintain the protection desired. generally, term life insurance has lower insurance rates than permanent insurance.

There are only 33 days, 15 hours and 45 Minutes until Christmas 2011!
I've done no Christmas shopping, my lovely lady is usually the expert shopper that arranges buying all the presents for both sides of the family, with some (albeit pretty minor and small) input from me.
I'm looking at getting her a necklace from Thomas Sabo that I know she liked and had her eye on when we were mooching in a department store recently. That'll be a good one, I'm usually so lost as to what to get her for Christmas and birthdays!
But for me, I really really hope she's good at picking up on hints. I know I'm supposed to be a grown up and all that, but I saw a collection of lego star wars sets when we were shopping recently and went completely gaga over them.

I loved Lego as a kid, and me and the lady have two whole weeks off for Christmas, so how better to spend it than lazing around the house like kids, building star wars lego!
I have a grown up job, pay my rent and my bills and my taxes and all that, so so what if I play with Lego occasionally?

We Need To Talk About Kevin is an absolutely fantastic film I watched last night. The film is full of fantastic imagery that repeats itself, allowing the audience to make links between the ending they already know and the events that led to it. The scene in which Eva spits out fragments of eggshell that are within her omelette is reminiscent of the way in which Kevin bit off his fingernails earlier and placed them in a row on the table. Such links pose questions to which the director does not give answers. Do Kevin’s actions emerge from nowhere or were they prefigured? Indeed, was Kevin born evil, or was it his mother Eva who made him that way? The film centres on the question of original sin, on inexplicable malevolence that occurs in everyday circumstances.

The title of the novel is hugely ironic as Eva and her husband Franklin never to get around to earnestly discussing Kevin. The anxieties of parenthood are addressed in this film in no less a disturbing way than in Rosemary’s Baby. Kevin’s tirades against the American Dream are supported by the film’s bleak look at the world of supermarkets, mini golf courses, travel agencies, and pristine homes that do not look lived in. I wouldn’t want to leave my herrenuhren with Kevin!

It simple but incredibly frustrating that no one is willing to invest in anything that is going to last these days. You can buy 6 dishwashers at £100 each that will last you 6 months, or you can buy one for £600 that will last you for 20 years. It may be more money up front, but in the long run you will save so much money and time by investing wisely. Now I not suggesting that just because something is expensive then it automatically means it is better quality. But use your head, do your research. Don't scrimp on the time and money in the first place, only to pack both back 10 fold later on.
If something is worth doing its worth doing right.

That is why I am making big changes to my home. I have gone all "green" as they say. Next time an appliance breaks, I'm not going to have it thrown into a landfill, im going to try and have it repaired, and failing that I am going to recycle it. I am also going to make smaller changes to, like changing all my light bulbs to LED spots and bulbs to save energy and money for me in the long run. They are more durable and cost effective than normal bulbs, and they last a lot longer.
Use your head people, by all means look for good value, but not at the cost of your pocket, or the planet.
