Richmond by admin

Had a brilliant day out in Richmond yesterday, basking in a rare spot of sunlight on the terraces of The Pitcher and Piano just by the river. Great views and great company that made me question again why on earth I still live in the centre of London. A place that never seems to relax, where manners are a thing of the past.
My doubts were only confirmed more when on my way back into London, my tube was delayed for almost 20 minutes because of some idiot that had decided to trespass onto the tracks. It really does seem that the closer you are to the heart of the city the closer to the riff raff you are. If I only had my time again.
I think greater London should take a leaf out of Richmond’s book and spend more time on cleaning the place up and creating a friendly atmosphere with unrivalled scenery. Even the McDonalds in Richmond had hanging baskets of flowers outside of them. Now that’s a place that knows how to take pride in itself....

Pint and Pie festival by admin

I might not be completely, ‘down,’ with the kids these days, especially when it comes to most new festivals but here is one festival that I don’t mind sinking my teeth into.
The award winning Young’s pub in Mill Street is currently showcasing it’s 10 most popular pies that have featured on its menus over the last 15 years, along with a free 1/3 pint of real ale or cider to boot!
For a man that enjoys a decent helping of homegrown food and a tasty Real Ale, I think I might have found my mecca for the month.
The Pint and Pie festival runs until the 3rd of October so make sure you don’t miss out. If you’re like me, get in early because you’ll be wanting to pop back again soon.

Timex Originals by admin

Timex have been making watches for just over 150 years now and one has to admit that after so much experience, they have got pretty good at it.
A brand that everybody has heard of, Timex was actually the make of the first proper watch that I ever bought and lasted until about 5 years ago. A good watch is often difficult to come by and although I have since replaced my old Timex with something a little newer, I was delighted when I found out that Timex were re-releasing some of their original models. Taking the same 70’s style designs and remaking them with modern, lasting technology.
It seems that as I keep saying old things really were made to last. They call them ‘vintage,’ now and are all the new trends which seems to work pretty well for me.
